Next DDPP

Next DDPP is scheduled for Dance Your Socks Off 2008, Saturday, 20 September, 7-8:30pm at 22 Webb Street. Mark your calendars and start collecting up on those danceable costume items, cause fancy dress is recommended. Read more about it here.

DDPP will also be part of the Women’s Festival at Vic University the week of 8 September.  Look for us around campus!

DDPP NZ: Now a Little More Elusive

It’s not that I don’t love every last one of you who wants to dance the afternoon away in central Wellington, but the every weekend thing is becoming a little difficult to maintain, so we’re changing up the schedule again, ladyfriends.

DDPP Wellington is going to once a month. Though I do promise other new and exciting developments on the public dance scene to come, such as guerilla routine dancing. Who likes routine dancing? Judging by the predominance of backup dancing and Spice Girls-type groups, we all do!  Who loves surprise dancing in public?  Well, I do, and so will you, when you hear more about it all. Tune in to Guerilla Dance NZ to see what’s a-happenin’.

So look for Dance Dance Party Party again in May. We’ll post the date soon! And if you have a protest, well you can always email us at ddppwellington[at]yahoo[dot]com.

Maybe you caught the interview on Access Radio on Wednesday night, maybe you were passed a flyer or saw one on the streets of Wellington, maybe you’ve seen us featured on WotzOn or Eventfinder… however you’ve found Dance Dance Party Party, we’re not shy to tell you that, yes, it is as good as it sounds.

Come on out this Sunday – we promise to make you boogie!

New Schedule for April

Schedule updates:
*No DDPP this Saturday, 22 March. Go do some easter dancing instead. Hm, what would that look like? Maybe a little pagan, methinks.
*We’re back on Saturday, 29 March, at 4pm. Then, a big change…
*DDPP Wellington is moving to Sundays from 2-3:30pm. Same place, new time! Tie it in with some farmers’ market shopping beforehand, and plenty of time to enjoy family and friends and that good old Wellington weekend sunshine afterwards.

We’re on this weekend, so come on down! But no Dance Dance Party Party on Easter weekend, folks – that’s 29 March, and I’m outta here with my honey in a rental hatchback, to follow our noses through the fabulous New Zealand wonderland. Then we’re back on schedule, but considering moving us up t0 4:30pm. Anyone want to weigh in?

First Evah

The host was late, the room was sweat-pourin’ hot, and the cake wasn’t cracked, but 7 brave ladies showed up for the First Evah Dance Dance Party Party New Zealand and worked it out for, well, a little under an hour and a half.

To anyone who arrived on time and gave up on waiting, I’m truly sorry for the class starting so late. If you come again and tell Beth that you were one who waited in vain, it will be made up to you, duly.
